Pukekohe is widely recognised as one of the old school circuits that is very fast and requires a strong engine to make the most of the long back straight. But two out of the eleven corners (Castrol and the hairpin) are slow which means that you need to be able to quickly switch driving styles from the fast to slow corners. The circuit's fast open nature has produced some of the best and closest on track battles in NZ motorsport.
