The title "Grand Prix" has been in existence since the very early days of Motorsport in the world. In New Zealand this premier New Zealand race was recognised in 1950 on the Ohakea Air Force Base circuit.

Toyota Racing Series

Toyota Racing Series

The championship series will kick off on 16-18 January 2015 at the Mike Pero Motorsport Park in Christchurch, after an absence from the venue of two years. This begins a five round back to back series for the Toyota Racing Series who will be unveiling a new body shell for the category. After Christchurch they head to Teretonga, Hampton Downs and then Taupo, before the NZ Grand Prix finale at Manfeild in mid-February.

NZV8 Touring CarsNZV8 Touring Cars

NZV8 Touring Cars has been awarded development championship status for the older style TL cars, while the new-generation TLX cars will compete for a cup this season. They will be attending race meetings outside the MSNZ five-round series including the first round at Hampton Downs on 1-2 November 2014 and the second round at Pukekohe on 28-30 November 2014. From there they join the championship series on 16-18 January 2015 at the Mike Pero Motorsport Park in Christchurch, after an absence from the venue of two years. After Christchurch they head to Teretonga on 23-25 January 2015, before Manfeild on 13-14 February 2015 and finally the last round in Pukekohe on 24-26 April 2015.

Toyota TR 86Toyota TR 86

The Toyota Finance 86 championship is going from strength to strength with their series beginning early at the V8 SuperTourer enduro meeting at Taupo, 26-28 September 2014. They will then head to Pukekohe with V8 SuperTourers again on 28-30 November before joining TRS at the Christchurch meeting on 16-18 January 2015. After Christchurch they head to Teretonga on 23-25 January 2015, before Manfeild on 13-14 February 2015 and the final round on 21-22 March 2015 at Hampton Downs.

New Zealand Formula Ford

MotorSport NZ’s longest running championship continues as a stepping stone for young drivers making the leap from kart racing. Race craft is honed, race lines learnt and single seater driving skills refined. This class prepares drivers to step up to Toyota Racing Series or NZV8 Touring Cars, before looking offshore for international opportunities. Many a top racing star made their start in Formula Ford and we see this continuing for many years.
